Live Puppy Cam - Staff Guide
Membership of this website requires approval before the user can log in and chat.
There will be a notification of new sign-ups sent to [email protected].
The process now differs to before the December 2019 site update and is somewhat simplified. When a user signs up they will set their password and optionally their first/last names in the registration form. When they submit the form they will then get the message that they need to wait for approval and a notification is sent to [email protected].
You would then go to the pending users control panel page and you will decide on the action for the user here.
You would select the check box on the left of the user and then the option to approve (or other) on this user is under the drop down which says UM Action
If required, a username can be changed by going to the wp-admin panel and then under Users in the left side menu you will see a list of all the users (you can use the search functionality to find a user). Clck on the desired user and then down the page is a box with the user name in and a link next to it that says "Update User Name".
If a user requires help with changing their avatar you can do this by going to their profile page. You can search for their profile by their username here.
You would then go to their profile page and click on the avatar circle on the page, a menu will then appear with "upload photo".
Upload and Save!
All entries to the contact form on Live Puppy Cam are forwarded to [email protected], it is recommended to use the contact form and not publish the email address.
Updating sections of the website
The website now uses a page builder tool called Beaver Builder which has a huge amount of options and features to configure the look and feel of almost every aspect of the site. We will only cover the most important things to help with updating sections like Puppy Watch.
The pages are made up of modules, each part can be edited individually so provided here is a few important links.
To edit the Puppy Watch section the link is:

To edit each section click the wrench
This will open the editor for this section:
The important tabs are General and Image/Icon
If necessary to update the image (for a new birthing) go to the Image/Icon tab and click Edit next to photo:
You can then select the photo of the mum from the media library or upload one.
After you are done editing click save in the lower right corner of the editor and then click "Done" in the upper right hand corner of the browser window, this will reveal some more buttons, click publish to make the change visible now.
Further options include dragging the modules to change the order.
You can also duplicate a module if you need more of that kind, then drag it to where you'd like it.
This will place an exact copy of the particular module, including its contents directly below itself, this can then be dragged around to place where you'd like it.
